Next week, on May 1, our new short-term rental regulations come into effect. These rules will help ensure more homes are available for the people who live and work in our communities – rather than just generating profit. We’re already seeing these rules turn housing units into more homes for people who need them.

People in our community and across B.C. deserve homes they can afford, where they can feel safe and have the resources they need to thrive. I know that right now, not everyone has that, and people frequently share their concerns with me about this issue. That’s why we are tackling the housing crisis from all angles. Our Homes for BC plan is helping to ensure people can find the housing they need, especially in areas where housing is less plentiful and rents are higher.
